The Brain Can Heal

The brain is an amazing organ. Not only does it control everything we think, feel, say and do, but it can heal if damaged by addiction, substance abuse, PTSD, stress, anxiety and the like.

This interview is marvelous and shows how the brain can heal — even from things as serious as stroke. It is Michael Krasny’s interview with Diane Ackerman, author of One Hundred Names for Love, regarding her husband’s stroke and recovery.  I share this interview to give hope and encouragement to those grappling with substance abuse or addiction — whether they be the person with the substance misuse problem or the family member or friend who loves them — about the power they have to heal their brains. There is new research – as Diane shares – that helps people understand how this is possible and the incredible opportunities it provides.
