Rescue Ink helps young people striving to quit drugs, alcohol
Smith along with her husband, Richard, have opened a new store in New Lexington with that idea in mind. Rescue Ink, at 126 Main St., has clothes, bikes, shoes and other items at prices that are affordable to those families and teens finding themselves in financial crisis.
“It seems like a lot of our youth around here are getting into trouble because not only do their parents have no income or very little coming in, but the kids aren’t able to get a job either,” Smith said. “So, not only are we trying to make a difference in their lives and giving them some other options than to hang out and do drugs, but we’re also trying to help the entire family by offering donated clothing and other items at drastically reduced prices.” Read more…

An underage drinking party in Johnson County put a teacher in trouble with the law. Police said Jennifer Devine hosted a drinking party to celebrate before her daughter left for college. They acknowledge she took precautions, but she still broke the law. Read more…
