Nothing on the label…

Now, I thought this was interesting. Yesterday I was at a family gathering and curious how much alcohol was in a beer as compared to an “alcohol pop” (one of those drinks that looks like a soda pop but with alcohol in it) and was surprised to find absolutely no information on the beer label – zip, zero, nada!

Imagine what alcohol beverage labeling could do to raise awareness about alcohol use. It could be a very small, simple label that merely reports serving size and the number of servings per container (with serving size = to one standard American drink)?

Any thoughts or comments?

I was just talking about alcohol content the other day. We were trying to figure out if some wines versus other drinks had more alcohol. It would be great to have that information because it would help me make more responsible decisions as well as help educate new, young drinkers.
